Compare Deepwell 6x6 and Moxie Saguaro 12x12 terrazzo samples from Zia Tile. Learn which colorway and format suits your floor or wall project.
Quick answer
Choose Deepwell 6x6 for a darker, denser terrazzo look in smaller spaces or accent areas. Choose Moxie Saguaro 12x12 for a lighter, more open pattern on larger floors.
Color and pattern differences
Moxie Saguaro features a greenish-gray base with larger, more distinct chips, giving it a lively, contemporary appearance. Deepwell uses a deeper charcoal base with finer aggregate, creating a subtler, more uniform surface.
The choice between them affects how the tile reads in your space. Moxie Saguaro stands out as a statement floor, while Deepwell recedes, letting other design elements take center stage.
Format considerations
The Moxie Saguaro sample is a 12x12 tile, which represents a larger format that reduces grout lines and can make a room feel more expansive. The Deepwell sample is a 6x6 tile, a classic size that offers more grout lines for texture and slip resistance.
For large floors, the 12x12 format of Moxie Saguaro can speed installation and create a cleaner look. For small bathrooms, backsplashes, or pattern layouts, the 6x6 Deepwell gives you more design flexibility.
Trade-offs to consider
- Visual impact: Moxie Saguaro’s light base and large chips create a bold, busy pattern that defines a room. Deepwell’s dark base and fine chips produce a quiet, sophisticated backdrop.
- Grout line density: 12x12 tiles mean fewer grout lines, which is easier to clean and gives a modern, seamless look. 6x6 tiles mean more grout lines, which add texture and can help with slip resistance.
- Installation cost: Larger tiles like Moxie Saguaro 12x12 can be faster to install, potentially lowering labor costs. Smaller tiles like Deepwell 6x6 require more cuts and more grout, increasing installation time and material cost. Request a sample of each to see how the color and scale work in your actual lighting.
