Carbon Black + Racing Green Ruitpatroon, Monster

The glossy finish really makes the carbon black pop against the matte green checkerboard. Holding it in hand, you can feel the slight handmade unevenness that gives zellige its character. Glad I ordered the sample to see the true depth of these colors.

The color combo is even better in person—the deep green has a subtle shimmer that doesn't show in photos. I held it next to my countertop and it's exactly the moody look I was hoping for.

Opened the box expecting a tiny boring swatch, but the depth of that carbon black against the racing green checkerboard is genuinely striking. The handmade surface has that subtle unevenness you only get with real zellige, so it's easy to picture how it'd catch light on a backsplash.
