Check in Carrara + Bardiglio Imperiale

The marble has a lovely weight to it, and the check pattern feels much more refined in person than I expected from photos. I’m using it as a kitchen backsplash, and the slight variation in the grey tones adds just enough character.

I was a bit worried the grey marble would look too cold, but the Bardiglio Imperiale has these subtle warm veins that make it feel much richer in person. The unglazed finish gives it a nice, natural texture underfoot, too.

The check pattern is exactly what I wanted for the backsplash—the contrast between the white and grey marble catches the light beautifully. Installation was straightforward too, and the unglazed finish gives it that old-world, handcrafted feel without being fussy.
